Monerans- A certain kingdom that has many different types of bacteria in it, and is single celled with no nucleus.

Jordyn's example of a moneran:

jordyns_bacteria.gif
The name of this bacteria is Streptomyces rimosus.
This bacteria is round shaped.
It is found in the soil of deserts. But is not distrubuted evenly through out the soil.

Andrea's example of a moneran:

This bacteria is Baccillus megataium.

It is rod shaped.
It is found in the soil of the desert.

Nick's example of Monera:

Nick's_bacteria.jpg

Location: In the desert soil

Protists- it has a nucleus, has organelles, and most are single celled.

Andrea's example of Protozoan

Protozoan:Any of a large group of single-celled, usually microscopic, eukaryotic organisms, such as amoebas, ciliates, flagellates, and sporozoans.
My Protist is Leishmaniasis major. It is found in the Middle East, Northern, and Sahharan Africa in the desert. It is carried by sand flies.

Algae- it is plant like, has cell walls, and has chlorophyll.

My algae is called Taxa demonstrate.

It is found in the upper layer of desert soil.

Nick's example of a protozoan:

Giardia cysts-ZnSO4-11-02-2008
Giardia cysts-ZnSO4-11-02-2008

Giardia cyst lives in the organs of people that drink contaminated water, it causes
  • Headaches,
  • Loss of appetite,
  • Low-grade fever,
  • Nausea, and
  • Vomiting

Protozoan: "animal like", it has no cell walls, and it has no chlorophyll.

Fungi- Multi- celled, has no chlorophyll, and it absorbs nutrients

Plant Section

Plants- The plant kingdom is very important, plants give off oxygen which is what keeps us alive. There are more than 250,000 species of plants in the world, all the way from cactus, mosses, and algae. This kingdom consists of vascular and nonvascular plants. Plants have cell walls and chlorophyll.
